Celebrating 10 Years: A Journey of Faith & Following God
|
Our Mission: To honor and glorify God utilizing the resources He has provided to help children move confidently in this world, knowing they are loved by Him. Our Vision: To help hurting hearts of children be transformed into hearts full of joy through the caring hands of God and be comforted by a horse's gentle touch. |
Sol's Legacy is a dream come true for founder and executive director Tonya Wells. As a child, Tonya loved horses from the moment she received her first pony at age 2. As a teen she experienced the calm, healing power a horse can provide to a daughter struggling with a parents' divorce and teen stresses. Throughout her life, Tonya has always loved to learn, especially about horses and how to work with them. As a teacher, she saw children dealing with so much in today's world and started to pray about how her horses could help other children walk through life the way they helped her.
In 2012, Tonya asked a small group of friends to pray about her dream. At the same time, she took on 2 students who were interested in riding horses. Slowly she continued to share her dream and passion with others. Two students turned into four. Four students lead to a formal board of directors and the start of a amazing journey.
In 2014 Sol's Legacy Ministries officially became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Over the years, the board has worked hard to develop a vision and mission for Sol's, as well as setting up a firm foundation. Without prayer and direction from God leading every step, we would not be where we are today.
Today we look to the future. We are excited about our upcoming season, as well as planning for tomorrow.

God's Provisions Over the Years
Rebuilding Together Ramp Build
On August 20, 2015 Sol's Legacy was blessed by a group of men from Rebuilding Together. This group of 16 men, quietly worked together to build us a mounting ramp. Because of their gift of craftsmanship, we were able to open our ministry to include all of God's amazing children. This project was also made possible because of generous contributions from Abilities Plus and First Lutheran Church. We thank God for each of you!

A Barn Painting
They say it takes a village to raise a child. Well, at Sol's we say it takes the hearts of our families and students to paint a barn. On October 11, 2015 Sol's Legacy was blessed with a gift of red paint to be able to give our facilities a pop of color. With the hard work of volunteers, we were amazed by the transformation that occurred in a short period of time.
